Ancient Music Workshops
The programme offers an opportunity for studying ancient music in the magnificent surroundings of such places as Frontone Castle, which provide an atmosphere conducive to total concentration. As well as the castle, there is the beautiful medieval village of Frontone (with its churches and other delightful attractions), the nearby Monastery of Fonte Avellana and the medieval village of Montevecchio di Pergola (whose magnificent seventeenth century organ has been recently restored). The courses offer students and teachers the ideal surroundings for carrying out this ambitious project, which brings together specialists in ancient music at international level and opens the gates of Frontone to a new kind of cultural tourism. The extraordinary historical and artistic interest of the area, which those taking part will be able to explore, will not be unimportant to the successful outcome of this first year of the event

Course programme
The lessons will be held in the Castle and in other parts of the medieval village of Frontone. The organ lessons will take place in Montevecchio di Pergola (about 15 km away). Each teacher will guarantee several individual lessons and participation in the ensemble music activities. It is also possible to arrange study programmes with the teachers in advance. At the end of the course students will be able to take part, together with the teachers, in public performances that are open to the public. Participants will receive a certificate of participation. Several study seminars will also be held by Marc Vanscheeuwijck on musical topics, which will be open to all those taking part in the courses. Each participant can also take part as a listener in lessons on other courses. It is possible to stay in accommodation in the Frontone area and in the neighbouring districts at pre-arranged prices.
The courses will only take place where there is a minimum number of participants.
